This is the best February ever! I used to HATE February. I despised it. Dreaded it every year. But I am totally loving this one. That thermometer above reads 75. Seventy five!!! (I know this is not a good thing, given global warming trends. But rather than worry, I'm just going to enjoy February. I'm stressed out enough as it is! I just want to play in the sunshine with my boys.)
And play we did!
Saturday morning, I busted out the double stroller my mother had so generously given me. And I took the boys, all by myself, up to the "guacamole store." We went to Chipotle.
My selfie mid-walk!
We feasted on chips and dip and lemonade on the patio.
Sage was a good boy.
On the walk back, it was nearing nap time. KK fell asleep.
But after a little rest time, we went back outside for more fun!
That mouth of his! If he's happy..it's wide open.
Kale is white. Like the color of paper.
He tanned his legs on this afternoon.
I love that gummy smile. Mmm. Mmm.
No teeth yet. Guess my mid-February predication was wrong. But the drool continues to drip.
Saturday evening Kale had a playdate. His hospital buddy Eli came over (born just 2 days apart.)
On Sunday the weather continued to be amazing! This picture was taken late in the afternoon, after it had started to cool off!
We began our Sunday morning with some chalk art.
A very focused artist.
I drew a sailboat and asked Sage to do the same.
He made this.
And together we designed Hula Hoop Hank.
Later in the day we moved to the backyard.
And we got the trusty bounce house out!
Look who's wearing cute Lightening McQueen undies!
On Monday, I tried a new recipe. And here's the funny thing. It had both sage and kale in it!! I had a moment of free time the other night and just for fun did a search for sage and kale recipes. I stumbled across a smashed bean bruchetta and decided to give it a go.
It was really delicious. We all liked it....
Until the whole family (Kale included) got gassy from the beans. We were tooting all over the place. Beans don't normally cause us problems. But when you mix the bean liquid in with the beans...that's when you get yourself into trouble. The leftovers haven't been touched.
Our final project before the work week began was for Sage to make his valentines. He had a lot of fun. And signed each one personally!
