7 Months Old!!
And the hair keeps growing and growing! It used to stick straight up. And his daycare teachers would tell me he looked just like a state trooper. But now it's getting long enough that it's starting to fall to one side or the other. So, he has more of a messy "non-buzzed" look now. I'm starting to wonder how long I will let it grow before I consider cutting it.
A trip down memory lane....
He was so bald back then!!! And what a smile!
Keeping up with the workout routine. Diet......not so much.
Matt said to me over the weekend, "I'm sad....Sage is starting to lose his baby chunk." Then I showed him this picture and said, "Are you SURE about that!?!?" This kid hasn't shown any signs of slimming down! And I'm paying for it. My back aches quite frequently from lugging this 20-pounder around. Add in 5 pounds for the carseat too. But he is SO worth it!
I'm having trouble finding footed-pajamas to fit this kid. He has pretty much grown out of the 9-month size. And the 12-month size is designed for babies with long skinny legs. Yesterday, Sage wore a pair of pajamas to daycare that were so tight on his legs and arms he looked like he was wearing a wet suit and preparing for deep-sea diving. I retired that pair of PJs as the end of the day. Summer needs to get here fast so I can stop worrying about covering his legs and arms. I miss the days when I could simply toss him in a onesie.
Nice mohawk, Sage!
The three of us went shopping at the Carter's outlet store on Sunday. Matt and I picked out a couple spring and summer outfits for Sage. I am so sick of his winter clothes!! I can't wait to dress this kid up in cute summer ensembles. It can snow all it wants in March, but once April hits, I'm expecting some warm weather. This Diemer clan is ready for some outdoor adventures!
Accessorizing!!
But as cool as Sage looks in this hat and sunglasses pairing, we did not splurge on these items. We stuck to more practical clothing pieces.
One of Sage's new summer outfits! This should look a little less like a dress once he grows into it.
Another new summer outfit.
As much as I preach gender neutrality, it's hard not to get sucked into the whole "little boy" style. In particular, I am very attracted to the baseball theme. And on that note, I might add, I am so looking forward to watching Sage play tee ball one day in the near future! I can see myself on the sidelines now..... "Go, baby, go!!"
Showing off the new sport shorts.
Don't let this angel face fool you. Sage is quite conniving. He is smart, he is squirmy, and he is a master at getting what he wants. He has an insatiable appetite and he is a pro at blowing through diapers. He has therefore earned himself the nicknames "monster" and "stink."
A shot of sleepy Sage in the morning.
This is how I found Sage on Saturday morning. I love it when he sleeps on his tummy. To me, it's a sign that he is becoming a big kid. I certainly never put him to sleep on his stomach, because of course, back is best. But if he chooses to roll over and sleep, then I shall let him.
On Friday, Matt and I met up with a friend and went out for Thai food, where Sage got to try out his first restaurant highchair. He loved it! Kept him entertained throughout the entire dining experience. Next time, however, I will bring some toys with clips. He continued to drop his toys on the ground over and over again. And this germaphobe mother wouldn't let him have them back. Live and learn.
