Parks, Puppets, And Popcorn

We had a decently warm Saturday. So after I got back from some morning errands (a haircut and maternity clothes shopping), I took my favorite little man down to the neighborhood park.

Love the aviator shades! He knows he looks cool.

Sunday morning, Sage was anxious for his shower. He climbed in all by himself. And waited patiently for daddy.

After naptime, I took Sage down to CSU campus for a free kid's carnival event. While Sage was too young for nearly 100% of the booth activities, he did LOVE the puppet performance. We walked in during the famous "mahna mahna" song, and grabbed a front row seat. He kept asking for more after each song.

Then we waited in a long line to get his face painted. I was worried he would hate it and it would all be for nothing. But he actually sat very still...and was quite proud of the bear on his face.

Since the carnival was on campus, Sage proudly wore his CSU gear!

Mr. Popular saw some of his good friends at the carnival.

After the puppeteers cleared the stage, my child decided he was the next act. (I could potentially have a theater major on my hands!) He ran all over the stage like a crazy person. It was a lot of work to get him off.

We ended the afternoon with popcorn and a balloon.
Not a bad day!

Monday morning we were all tired and didn't want to go to work or school. If only we could stay in bed and snuggle all morning long.

Wednesday we hit a high of 76 and it was gorgeous! Why can't that ever happen on a Saturday?!!? Come on Mother Nature. Help the working people out! In any case, Matt took Sage out for a backyard romp after work.

The daffodils are up! They are so bright and so perfect they look like plastic. But they are real!

I wonder if those teeth will stay so straight and so perfect for his whole life. I can only hope!

And finally, an update on the new baby. Sage is excited to tell the world that he is getting a little brother this autumn!

It's a boy, people!

I found out about 6 weeks ago - through a blood test. And I announced to my close friends and family with a fun scratch-off card.

I was completely shocked to hear it was a boy. We practiced Dr. Shettle's method for girl selection. It's supposed to have a 75 to 80% success rate. And we timed it perfectly! But it clearly didn't work. In the end, I was just meant to be the mother to a set of darling boys. I know that Sage now has a playmate for life. Plus, I'm going to save a ton of money on clothing!

I have already announced to CSU campus. To see that blog post and some other recent ones, visit:
