Happy April Everyone!

On Saturday, we attended a toddler meet-up.
Sage was stylin' for the event!

The folks who hosted the meet-up had a trampoline in the backyard. That was a huge hit with all the kids!

This family also had backyard chickens. The owners let the birds out of their pen, and the kids chased them all over the yard. The chickens were both smarter and faster than the toddlers. No chickens were harmed in the scramble.

The chickens found the toddlers to be quite annoying and sought out refuge in the center a of bushy tangled tree. None of the other kids could find their way to the center... except for Sage! He climbed and crawled his way in.

The backyard also had a sandbox!
Sage really enjoyed himself all afternoon.

Immediately following the toddler meet-up, I headed to Old Town for a CSU Mom's Night Out! All my favorite mamas from CSU gathered together at an upscale wine bar for dinner and drinks. I was bummed to be the only one not drinking alcohol, but I had the bartender throw together a pregnancy-friendly fancy drink so that I could feel special too. It was a sparkling ginger citrus concoction. And it was so good!

Sunday morning. Fresh out of the shower.
Sage loves to shower with his daddy.

Roaring like a bear.

It was warm on Sunday. So Sage and I opted for one of our favorite pastimes....  a walk to the complex!

Our target destination was the frozen yogurt shop.

Sage and I each had our own bowl of watermelon fro-yo.
And then we walked home.

Back at the ranch, Sage helped his daddy water some of the spouting spring plants. Gosh he is such a big boy these days!

My cooking streak continues!

On Tuesday evening I made one of my favorites - enchiladas!
It's the freshest and easiest recipe. I roast up a couple jalapenos, onion slices, tomatoes, and garlic cloves. I then puree the roasted veggies in my food processor. I heat corn tortillas before tossing them in the veggie sauce, then top with black beans, feta cheese, avocado, and lettuce. The dish was spicy enough to make your nose run. But Sage, surprisingly, ate it all up!

Exploring his pop-up book before dinner.

Furrowed brow!

The boy really enjoys reading books. I was worried we would never get to this stage. Now if only I had more time and more energy to read to him. Mom and dad are so tired after work!! But we still try to squeeze in at least one book before bedtime.
