I think we've all just accepted the fact that summer has come early...really early. Too many nice weekends in a row. At first we assumed it was a fluke. A random hot day. But we've had so many..with no end in sight. I've actually started packing up the heavy winter gear.
Saturday morning I took the boys to the park so Matt could do some window painting. I wanted to use the double stroller, but it was way up high in the garage rafters, and we had already taken sooooo long to get ready and out the door. So for the very first time, I asked Sage to just walk with me, as I pushed Kale in the single stroller.
Sage did a great job. He held my hand while crossing streets. He stayed on the sidewalk at all times. He picked up little nature treasures along the way.
On the way back, Sage got tired and told me he couldn't walk anymore. I tried to give him a piggy back ride, but had only one hand to support him. So that didn't work for long. Then I got the bright idea to stick Sage on the front end of the stroller. It worked like a charm. (He only fell off once!)
On Sunday we continued to have simple fun outdoors. Just lounging around the backyard, watching clouds, having picnics. Regular life...but done outdoors.
Matt dug some holes for his plants. And Sage had a grand old time playing in them.
Here is Sage doing a slow motion jumping jack....
Sunday evening we had a BBQ with friends. At the end of the night, Sage and Ramona (3) preformed a music show. Sage is on harmonica. Ramona on drums. Best act I've seen in a long time!
On Monday, after the typical grocery shopping trip, Kale and I got out for a short loop around the neighborhood.
Then it was back to the house for cooking, lunch packing, and Kale's daily bowl of oatmeal.
