One of my favorite parts of bringing home baby is the newborn photography session. I just love the final products! The most gorgeous perfect pictures, permanently preserving your tiniest member of the family to be enjoyed for years to come.
Kale's photo shoot took place at 8 days of age, exactly the same as Sage's.
And just for fun...
How about a little brother comparison?

YUMMY!
My boys are yummy!!!
And now fast forward.....
Winter finally came. And it hit us hard!
We had a high of 4 degrees on Monday.
And something very similar on Tuesday.
Time to bust out the cute winter baby hats!
All this cold weather got me in the mood for pumpkin pie.
So I made one!
On Thursday, we were stuck inside all day...as it was still very cold. And there was close to 6 inches of snow on the ground.
Sage and I had to be really creative to entertain ourselves.
We had fun with playdough.
And stickers.
I turned my back for one second. Probably to change Kale's diaper... And I found him closely inspecting the kitchen chandelier.
Kale has become totally fascinated with his jungle gym. He is really working on that hand-eye coordination.
Sage loves his little bro!
And loves playing with all his baby toys too.
On Saturday, I dragged Matt to the trampoline park.
After the awesome time I had with Sage last weekend, I really wanted Matt to have the same experience. We packed up the whole family and arrived really early...and were the first people to jump. We had the whole place to ourselves!
Kale went too... But stayed hunkered down in his carseat.
Told you we had the place to ourselves....
It's completely deserted! Much to our satisfaction!
And after all the excitement...there was more to come.
Sage got to play in the first snow of the season.
Making snow angels.
Kale and I declined their invitation to join them.
It was frigid out! We'd much rather stay in with a glass of wine and some Frank Sinatra. Kale loves dancing to music with me. And I love all those extra steps I earn on the FitBit. (Which I have started wearing again now that I'm no longer pregnant. I was avoiding excess electromagnetic radiation before.) I'm currently only averaging about 5,000 steps a day. Even after an hour at the trampoline park.... And boy will that number decline after I take back my desk job!
Kale is officially two months old.
According to the doctor, he is 13.2 pounds and 23.5 inches long. (I guess Matt and I need to work on our measuring skills. Because we thought he was much longer. I even made the nurse measure him twice! And it's true. He's 23.5 inches long.)
This puts him in the 75th percentile for both weight and height.
And here is his brother at the same age:
Ahh...memories!
How did that first little baby grow up so fast?
I better savor my Kale before he gets this big too.
