His first real taco.
I'm trying to encourage him to eat his food like the rest of us do. I avoid cutting everything up into bite sized pieces if I can.
This concept started off well with the taco, but got quite messy immediately following this bite.
Mom and Dad showing Sage how play dough is really done!
One word to describe this week:
Brrrrrr!!!!!!
A couple other words come to mind, but they probably aren't appropriate for public eyes. I hate winter! It was -15 degrees this morning. I feel as if I won't survive February. Oh... and we got like a foot of snow this week. But not a single snow day!
Dad thought Sage might like to help him shovel the driveway. After a half hour of bundling the baby, he only stayed out for 10 minutes. He no likey.
The next day Matt tried again....
He thought Sage might like to go sledding and make some snow angels.
Dad demonstrates the snow angel.
Dad forces Sage to make one too.
Waving at Nico - who watches the crazy humans from the comfort of his warm perch.
After about 20 minutes Sage was done. I found him crying at the patio door. Dad might like playing in the snow, but Sage has decided it's not for him.
A new skill! Sage can now blow his own bubbles!
Get ready... Get set...
GO!
And finally, only a month after the first light fixture update, Matt and I were able to finish the project. We now have a new fixture in our dining room, with fancy dimmable CFLs!
Before.
After.
On Monday, Sage had his first day at his new daycare. And I am thrilled with the new place! The facility is just gorgeous. Pictured below is Sage's classroom. But they also have an indoor gymnasium, complete with balance beams, slides, and a foam pit. They also have a movement room, complete with hardwood floors, ballet bars, and large mirrors. He gets to use each of those enrichment rooms twice per week. I love this new level of stimulation for him. It will cost me though. We are looking at an extra $1500 a year. Could be worse! It's worth it for my baby.
There were many reasons for our decision to move. While we had a positive experience at our last place, it just wasn't quite good enough. There were some things that really irritated me. For example, their over-reliance on candle warmers to mask the fragrance of dirty diapers. And the day they lost my son's shoe, then proceeded to take him outside in January with nothing but socks on. Or their failure to communicate with me about what he ate and how much of it. So far I am very happy with the new center. I know it won't be perfect. But I do think it is a step in the right direction.
Sage's new lunchbox!
On his first night home from the new daycare, Sage brought me this adorable art project. I was so proud. What an artist!
