Sage Is 18 Months Old!

On Saturday, Sage started swim lessons. I bought him a new pair of trunks to commemorate the occasion. Plus...he had outgrown his pair from this last summer.

The lesson was only a half hour long. It was quite of bit of work for just 30 minutes of swimming. I showered in the morning. Packed up the gear and drove to the Mulberry Pool. Then after lessons, I had to bathe Sage and re-shower myself. But, these are the kind of sacrifices you make for your children.

We worked on blowing bubbles in the water. Floating on the tummy and back. And learning to kick.

Squawking at the other children.

Later in the day, it really warmed up. Just around 60 degrees. And we took advantage of that.

Squirrel!!!

Large chunks of ice lay across our porch steps. Sage had a lot of fun smashing them. They look sharp, but were rather harmless.

The boy is fascinated with rocks.

He got a little mud on his face.

Dad game him a snowball.

And then we brought out the hula hoops.

Sage kindly tried to put the hoops away, but got stuck between the house and the woodpile.

Eating breakfast and watching TV.
A classic weekend morning.

Lately, Sage has really been into sucking.
He'll take either a pacifier (which he calls "bites") or his own fingers.

On Sunday, we were blessed with more sunshine. So we headed to the park.

We didn't stay long as the weather quickly changed after our arrival. Clouds rolled in and temperatures dropped. Just an hour later is was 35 degrees. And Monday morning, we all woke up to snow and freezing temperatures. I'm so ready for January to be over!!

Sage is now officially 18 months old!!
He is 100% little boy now. Not a baby in the least. His language skills have really taken over. His word list is so long. I just love communicating with him. And he understands a lot more than he says.

His new words include:
vacuum, bubbles, nose, more, hot, soup, hat, stop, juice, cold, mouse, moose, cow, bear, toes, moon, poo poo

He can also say the names of some loved ones:
Sam, Betsy, and Elmo

He has also started to put some phrases together. I've heard:
"No. Stop." "No. Bye bye." "Toes off."

And finally, for my latest CSU post, check out:
