Out With The Old, In With The New

Another weekend hanging around the house.
There's just no need to leave. We can have a lot of fun right on site!

This Saturday, Sage climbed on furniture.

He bundled up for a quick romp in the snow.
First snow of the season! Winter is officially here.

He got silly in the tunnel.

He snuggled with his buddy Nico.

Saturday was also a big day for the parents in the house! We bought ourselves a new TV stand! We have been contemplating this purchase for years. And we finally treated ourselves to the upgrade. It has completely transformed our family room.

We the addition of the TV stand, we also thought it time to add some wall art. We scored these pieces of Redwood burl on our trip to California back in August. Nature makes the best art!

Setting up the new TV stand meant that the old one was now available for climbing. Sage was thrilled. Here he is sitting on top of the table rolling and throwing balls from one end to the other

Saturday evening we had some old friends visit. Toni-Lee and Dan. And they brought with them their new baby Josie! This was Josie's first trip to Casa de Diemer. Hopefully not the last!

Sage and Josie had fun playing airplane.

Hugs!

On Sunday, Sage insisted on wearing his boots around the house.
I admit, this is not the most slimming of outfits!

A boy and his stick.

Sunday marked the end of Autumn for our household. In preparation for Thanksgiving (the official start of Christmas), we packed up all the harvest decorations and threw out all the pumpkins. But not before first letting Sage have his way with them. He carefully sorted them. Then threw each one (large and small) down the basement stairs. Just try to imagine the sound of a 5 pound pumpkin tumbling down a flight of stairs. It scares you the first time you hear it!

Sunday also marked the day we let Sage eat an apple the "big boy" way. I peeled it for him and let him go to town. It entertained him for a long time! Close to 30 minutes he was nibbling at this thing.

And then he politely offered his dad a bite.

Our new TV stand has a lot of storage in it. So we emptied out the "media trunk" in our bedroom and moved all the DVDs downstairs to the new unit. This meant that the trunk was now free for storing other items. We all agreed on toys!

Sage gathered up all his furry friends and moved them to the newly available trunk.

And then he jumped in and joined them!

Silly Sage!

And now for some candid moments around the house:

Breakfast in bed!
(We do this every single morning.)

Rocking the new hat on his way to daycare.
His classmates thought he looked really cool.

Sleeping like a baby!

Saturday morning cartoon-watching.

And, bath time fun!

Also, this week Sage added a new word to his vocabulary.
He can now say "juice"!
