The Sand-And-Water Table

It was a whirlwind of a weekend! But we had so much fun!

On Friday night, we had Sam, Lainey, and Andy over for a giant play date. We ordered out Bann Thai and had a giant meal together. Matt and I like our Thai food quite spicy. That meant that sharing food from our plate with Sage was not an option. So.... I bought Sage his first kid's meal! I got a huge kick out of this! Sage had egg noodles and tofu with a soy sauce. And he continued to eat this meal for the rest of the weekend. It was a large portion size!

After dinner, Andy and Matt went to a concert, and had a guy's night out. The ladies stayed home with the babies. We drank wine and gabbed all night. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the toddlers. (My camera doesn't work very well at night.... I knew it wasn't a battle worth fighting.)

Early on Saturday, Sage had another playdate scheduled.

We met up with Cassidy, Matthew, and Channing at their house. The photo above shows both boys with their mouths stuffed full of banana! Mmmm...snack time!

For the most part, the boys played very well together. But there were some highly coveted toys that resulted in a couple tug-a-wars between Sage and Channing.

I know this is the first of many toddler battles to come. They are mild. And typically end quickly. It's fun to watch Sage interact with other kids. His social skills are all over the place! One minute Sage has his arm wrapped around his buddy's shoulder, then next minute he's slapping the pacifier right out of his mouth. I try to teach right from wrong... but that's a challenge I haven't mastered yet. I wish those darn library books would get here already!

We returned from the playdate, and a round of errands, around 3 in the afternoon. Daddy was pooped! So while Matt slept, we set up Sage's new sand and water table!

This table resulted in over an hour of non-stop play! I sipped on a glass of wine and just watched my boy. Pure bliss!

The pictures below prove...without a doubt...that Sage had a wonderful time!

I've never seen so many faces of Sage! What a ham! It's almost like he was modeling for the camera.

On Sunday, I let Sage romp around in his diaper...savoring the last days of really warm weather. Monday was forecasted to bring a cold front. And it sure did! It's been raining and in the 60's all week. I have actually enjoyed the change in weather. I made tomato soup, from scratch, on Monday, and unpacked a couple sweaters from the closet. It's been a nice change of pace. I now have Autumn on my mind...and all the fun that comes with that season.

Goodbye summer - we had a blast!
