Some New Experiences, And Some Old

So first, I need to do a bit of catch-up...
There are a few items I accidentally left out of previous posts.
But are memories I don't want forget.

For Sage's 4th birthday his Uncle Sam and Aunt Alison took him out for his first mini golf experience. Sage stills talks about that day, and has requested to go golfing again. So I think it was a success!

And prior to that... I had an incredible work retreat experience, that took me rafting down the Poudre River.

Bucket list... check!

I think we are about the cutest office ever.
Unbiased opinion of course.

Our guide was a business student. So that was funny...
It's always a joy to run into your students off campus.
But this was unique. Our overall safety and general well-being were in his hands. Yikes!

We did lose one person overboard during the trip, but overall, it was a safe ride. (Don't worry. She was pulled safely back inside the boat. So no harm done!)

We all lived to tell the tale...

Alright, so now we are caught up
and can fast forward to middle August.

Sage had a play date in the park with a good friend he hadn't seen in months. So nice to catch up with Sam and his mama!

That SAME day, in the afternoon, Sage had a birthday party for one of his best friends Kellen.

At the farm.

I love that Kale is at the age where pants are still optional.
He has great legs. Let's show them off!

Big brother helping Kale hold out the food for the goats.

And no trip to the farm would be complete without a stop by the tractor.

It's a tradition we started long long ago.

Is the tractor getting smaller or my kids getting bigger?!

Please say the tractor....

We cooked our way through another Blue Apron box too.

In my opinion, this first recipe was the winner from the box.
And it's funny...
This was the one I was LEAST excited about.
Summer Veggie Kale Gnochi

Also interesting, this box was the first we ever got with meat included. I don't think Matt was that impressed it. So I'm returning to all veggie orders.

The dish below was a beef and lamb piperade.
Sort of like a fancy meatloaf, served with garlic rice.

(The 3rd and final recipe will be pictured in next week's blog...)

In other food news...
I've surprised myself with my snack-making skills lately.

This sort of fell together one afternoon after school.

Who woulda thunk it!
Vanilla wafers, peanut butter, and fruit loops.
The kids flipped out. They loved it!

Also discovered the power of a candle...
Can turn bananas into the next best thing since birthday cake!

And the sprinkles helped too....
