Sage has reached the 1 year milestone!
Here's a look back at how quickly this little guy has changed.
Going back through these pictures makes me sad and happy at the same time. I can't believe it's been a whole year. And look how fast he has changed. Those precious infant moments pass way too quickly. I don't even remember what it feels like to hold a newborn. I've forgotten... I'm ready to have another one! These pictures have convinced me! Matt..where are you!?! Get in here!!!! :)
CSU is back in session. Monday marked the first day of classes. And work has been busy since those students returned! I got lazy one night, and instead of cooking the family a nutritious meal, I opted for a hot, delicious, and buttery Domino's pizza. And we let Sage indulge too. I have been more lenient with his diet lately. I know I shouldn't start bad habits... but it's so hard to enjoy life's "delicacies" and not share with Sage.
With September quickly approaching, I have been trying to take advantage of the warm weather as much as possible, by getting outside for bike rides and walks nearly every night of the week. One evening we rode our bike to a nearby neighborhood park. There are so many in the vicinity. We've been to several this summer, but continue to discover more. Keeps it exciting.
This park had some pretty awesome equipment. Including a teeter totter. Sage and I together were the perfect counter balance for Matt.
On Saturday morning, the family went out for a big shopping trip. All of us are in need of new clothes for the fall. Halfway through the excursion, we stopped for lunch at P.F. Changs. Sage is more challenging than ever to entertain in public. So I asked the server for some crayons. To my delight, Sage actually used the crayons correctly. He made several scribbles on the kid's menu. Genius!!!
Later that evening we hosted a small baby and adult combo play date. Sage and Sam are so cute together! They are becoming such good friends.
Tunnel time!
On Sunday, it was time to do some housecleaning. Sage has an exceptional love of most household items. I've previously written about his fascination with the dishwasher. I would argue that he is even more infatuated with the vacuum cleaner.
On this particular afternoon, he chose to ride the vacuum in mechanical bull fashion.
I will end by sharing with you an adorable Sage idiosyncrasy. Like I mentioned last week, Sage has brought back the "uh oh's." In full swing! What I forget to mention, is that he has added a new twist. Instead of "uh oh," Sage says "uh ew." Which is WAY cuter!!! I love the "uh ew!" Matt and I have adopted the word into our own lexicon too. I'm so excited for more language milestones. That's when child rearing gets really entertaining.
